Last month, we announced that we had been nominated for not one but two awards for our partnerships with Face the Future and Herd, for the launch and continuous development of Face the Future's ecommerce platform.
On Wednesday 28th July we were amazed to find out that we had won both the Global Ecommerce Website of the Year and Global B2C Website of the Year.
Whilst we were not able to attend the awards ceremony in person due to Covid restrictions, we were glued to our phones as we watched the virtual event presented by Andy Crane, who came to fame through his time with Philip Schofield and Gordon the Gopher, in the infamous Broom Cupboard on Children's BBC TV (for all those old enough to remember) 😊

What the judges said?

It is always great to hear why you have won the awards. Since the awards ceremony, the team at Dont Panic Events have shared the judges feedback ...
"I liked the fact that they considered organic search. It's clear that an SEO centric approach as part of the migration worked well for them"
"Showed the innovation and creativity, that formed part of the conversion"
"Impressive results"
"I really liked the clear objectives and how the results were tied back to them"
"Very well planned and implemented strategy and the results are impressive"
More information on all of the winners can be found in the Book of the Night

How we supported the ecommerce migration?

When Customer First Digital partnered with Face the Future, the scalability of their existing ecommerce platform was assessed. Discussions immediately turned to the need to migrate the website to Shopify Plus in time for the peak 2020 trading period.
We undertook an initial website audit and competitor analysis to identify opportunities to develop a set of requirements and reviewed potential development partners who could support. Having previously worked with the team at Meta., we recommended to Face the Future that they should be an option to consider as part of our market review of Shopify development companies.
During the development of the new site, we partnered closely with both the team at Face the Future and Meta to ensure that the requirements were implemented and improvements in both Conversion Rate and Average Order Value would be realised. The results speak for themselves, where we have achieved double-digit Year on Year performance since launch, including ...
Sessions – 100.7%
New Users – 90.7%
Sales – 80.2%
Revenue – 54.2%
Since the launch and the best ever peak trading period, we have continued to work collaboratively on new ways to improve the customer experience and trading metrics.

What Face the Future had to say about our partnership?

"Our team moved quickly to work with both META and Customer First Digital, ensuring our must have requirements for launch were captured, whilst taking into account future changes we would want to make, to continuously meet and exceed our customer’s needs.
Not only did we manage to launch before peak, our first full trading month delivered our best revenue month ever, exceeding our forecast and delivering an outstanding 83% uplift year on year.
Face the Future has continued to grow in the first part of 2021, none of which would have been possible without the launch of the new platform. We feel confident that we have a solution that is best in class and will deliver on our future growth ambitions.”
Paul Thompson, Owner, Face the Future
"Due to the size and scope of our project (moving from Prestashop to Shopify Plus), Face the Future knew we needed a development company who shared our vision, and META certainly did.
The team have been exceptional throughout, and the results have already shown the benefit for moving to Shopify Plus. In just 4 weeks we have already seen an increase in revenue of 26% per day, which is incredible!”
Mark Till, Head of Ecommerce, Face the Future
