On the 22nd of April 2024, Dave, Suzanne and I (Lewis) travelled to Brighton to attend Affiliate Huddle 2024, which took place the following day. This year’s record breaking attendance made its way to the Brighton Dome to gather for a busy event filled with seminars and networking.

About Affiliate Huddle and Why We Attended ...

Similar to Affiliate Huddle 2023, the event is a one day event focusing on Affiliate Marketing, allowing a mixture of agencies, brands, networks and publishers to catch up, discuss and plan for the months ahead, whether this is through the 15 minute booked discussions or out of the blue when you both go to grab a coffee! The Brighton Dome also has a theatre, allowing the Affiliate Huddle to get the best in Affiliate Marketing and discuss relevant topics in the world of Affiliates.

The team travelled down again this year to gain a greater understanding and learn about opportunities that may be available for our partners. It was also important that we got ourselves out there by allowing brands, publishers and networks to understand what we do by explaining our many products in affiliate marketing and who our partners are, but most importantly, by giving out ‘The Customer First Digital Goodie Bag’ which included multiple products from our partners, our product sheet and of course the pack of Haribo’s to keep everyone firing on all cylinders!!

Who the team spoke to?

Over the course of the day, myself, Dave and Suzanne spoke to many faces, familiar and new, to discuss our partners marketing plans and where potential opportunities may work the best. With this being my second event, I arrived with a greater understanding of affiliate marketing and networking. I attended most of the scheduled meetings, beginning with filtered coffee (and water), pastries and a catching up with Billy from Global Savings Group / Daily Mail where we discussed the multiple opportunities that could arise for our partners. We then caught up with Emily from Immediate Media to discuss how to improve our relationship and how our current partners can continue to work with themselves. Dave and Suzanne also caught up with Josh from Linkby to discuss past campaign performance and what content editors are currently on the look out for. We then had a mosey around the event greeting familiar faces such as Chris from BravoVoucher, Darshni and Alex from Rakuten Advertising and Molly from Klarna, followed by a quick bite to eat carefully avoiding the swarming Seagulls outside (ask Dave about his donut!)

The afternoon began with losing Dave to an Intent.ly invite only gathering for brands and agencies, where he enjoyed a well-deserved drink and a spot of lunch. Myself and Suzanne continued our networking, talking to Jordan and Karen from the GoCertify team. We caught up and discussed potential new brands to onboard and how the new DataCapture solution is performing and helping our brands communicate with their customers.

The Seminars and the Demos …

Although it’s always great to meet up with new and familiar faces, the event isn’t all about that, as it also hosts seminars and demos throughout the day.

One of the sessions Lewis attended was ‘GA4: Unfair Modelling or Concerning Revelation?’ This session was interesting to discover their thoughts, problems and solutions for GA4. One of the main topics for discussion was about how many of us users noticed UA relied on 3rd party cookies and with 3rd party cookies sunsetting, it was time to move to GA4. Something we recommend everyone do, that was mentioned in the session, is to gather their data from UA before it is removed to still get a YoY view. The overall session was useful, leading to the conclusion that GA4 has the potential to be good, however, you should always use other data sources to get a greater understanding, such as ecommerce platforms like Shopify or Triple Whale

We managed to catch snippets of other webinars, ‘Debunking Myths: Why Publishers Need to Rethink their Affiliate Monetization Strategies’ and ‘Revolutionizing Affiliate Marketing with AI’

Dave spent time attending some of the demos, which were presented by 23 brands across the day. These were a great way to see some of the new to market and trending partners that brands and agencies can collaborate with across all areas of affiliate marketing, including the likes of Increasingly, Moonpull and Linkby. A massive congrats to our long-term partner GoCertify, who were named the overall winner of an all-inclusive trip to 2025 Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas!
Finally, a huge THANK YOU to James Little and the team who helped make Affiliate Huddle 2024 a successful event. We would also like to thank everyone who took time out of their day to speak to us and we hope you enjoyed your Haribo's! If you missed us on the day feel free to get in touch, we are always available to chat via email or on a call 😊

See you next year!!
