My journey at Customer First Digital started 6 months ago … to think that I started that long ago astonishes me, it has gone so quick! Since I started, I feel like I have learnt so much about digital marketing from both Suzanne and Dave. I also had my first college session and many more at Hull College, where I have met other new apprentices who are attending the same course. I honestly feel like I have learnt more in these six months than I did during the whole 14 years I had at school.
What work I have done?
My first six months here at Customer First Digital, have been so much fun. I have met so many new people, whether this be at college, meeting all the new apprentices, or meeting some of our partners at Face the Future and Green Ginger Digital. Not only was it great to meet them, but also to experience other working environments and even learn from them. I feel like I have taken on more responsibility and work more independently now. I have been testing out numerous social media platforms to see which is most effective. Every month, I am trusted to create an email on HubSpot for our Digital Revolution to send to our community.
What have I learnt in my first half year ...
I have learnt so much from Dave and Suzanne. Suzanne has supported me with affiliate marketing, learning and improving my knowledge of different platforms like Rakuten and Awin. I have also been introduced to lots of new sites associated with eCommerce like Shopify. Dave has also guided me and introduced me to new sites to help our partners, this included using HubSpot to release our monthly Digital Revolution, an insight of monthly news and recognising websites like Attentive to help support with the SMS side of digital marketing. I feel like my knowledge of the digital marketing world has grown massively, however there is plenty more to learn.
Proudest moment so far ...
My proudest moment is an easy one for me. On December 16th, I passed my first college exam, Business Principles of Digital Marketing. I was so happy to find out I passed, as I spent many hours and days preparing for this exam. As it was so close to Christmas, it felt like a Christmas present had arrived early. Another proud moment was all of us passing our Rakuten preferred agency exam. Knowing that we became a preferred agency partner of Rakuten, shows all the hard work we all put in as a team.
Outside of work ...
I have partaken in many events outside of work, since joining the Customer First Digital team. We have competed in a charity game of footgolf … we didn’t win, but it was still fun! All of us also managed to escape the Mystery on the Yorkshire Express, an escape room in Beverely followed by a meal. I also attended The Flight Club with our partners Face the Future, I definitely need to put in more practise to have a chance in hitting the bullseye!!!
Moving into 2023 ...
Going forward with Customer First Digital, is exciting for me. I am really looking forward to seeing how my first whole calendar year of doing digital marketing unfolds. I am also keen in starting my next term at college, where I will be learning a new topic and potentially starting to understand the portfolio side of college and what I need to do. Ultimately, I’m looking forward to continue working with the team here at Customer First Digital.
