My journey began last month ... I had known for a long while I have wanted to do digital marketing, due to learning GCSE and A-Level business at school. What really interested me in business was the marketing side and mainly online and digital. During my time at college, I knew that to progress and learn more about digital marketing I had to learn within a company to get a first-hand experience of digital marketing. I struck lucky by finding and managing to get a position at Customer First Digital where Dave has over 15+ years of experience. 

What work I have done? 

My first month at Customer First Digital has been interesting, exciting but most importantly fun. I have learnt so much in the space of so little time. Working on the affiliate side of marketing, social media but also a lot of research to understand the market we are in today, and what this could look like in the future. In this time I’ve helped do research for our clients and carried out sales and activity reports. I’ve also been introduced to loads of different marketing and data platforms and learnt how to use them such as Rakuten, Similar web and even Google Trends. 

What have I learnt in my first month ... 

There are many things I have learnt in this month, my main achievement was doing Google Analytics accreditations. Within the space of 2 days, I learnt how to use Google Analytics , by completing and recieving the three certificates, Google Analytics for beginners, advanced and also the GAIQ award. Another thing I have also enjoyed doing are sales and activity reports for our clients. I find It interesting on how they have performed the previous week and finding ways on how to improve this for the following weeks. 

My expectations ... 

I didnt really know what to expect when I first joined Customer First Digital, being my first full time job in digital marketing. It has been really interesting to learn about the brands and how we would help them grow and reach their targets. Overall, this helped me learn about the digital marketing world and how it works. I didn’t expect to visit our client, Face the Future, however this has been really interesting and helped me learn about the company on more of a personal level and how the business works from inside. 

Going forward with Customer First Digital ... 

Over the next 6 months I am looking forward to starting college and learning from a different perspective. In 6 months’ time I’m hoping to have fully settled into working at both, Customer First Digital and Hull college. It will be interesting to learn more about digital marketing, but also moving into 2023 to begin my first full calendar year to see what I can achieve.
